Learning style definition

Learning style refers to a process of efficient acquiring, storing and managing information through learning and teaching based on an individual's style of preference.

Learning styles emerged from four different actions: having an experience, reviewing the experience, drawing conclusions from the experience and planning the next steps based on the experience.

Learning style models

1. Converger: for individuals who are prone to abstract concepts, experimentation, practical application of ideas and deductive reasoning.

2. Diverger: includes reflective observation and concrete evidence or experience for individuals who are good at seeing things from a different angle and creative endeavors.

3. Assimilator: for individuals who are good with abstract concepts and reflective observation, inductive reasoning and the use of theoretical models.

4. Accommodator: for individuals who prefer concrete experience and experimentation through engaging with the world to learn rather than study theory.
